Turns out the light on a hp laptop touchpad indicates whether the touchpad is active or turned off. When you see the light on, it means that you won't be able to use the touchpad. If you have an external mouse plugged in, you won't have any problems but if you don't, the mouse pointer will not move. How do you fix this?
