Samsung's roles out ONE UI 7 to nearly all devices

In a recent update, samsung has rolled out a software update giving mid range and low range phone users a chance to experience the new interface,  ONE UI 7. The update, initially only available for flagship phones, has finally been released to most Samsung devices. Although still with limited functionality,  Samsung A-series users can now get a taste of the interface shared by flagship phones like the galaxy s25 series. The devices still have no access to the AI functionality present in the flagships . With every update comes a disadvantage,  and for this it has been with the power consumption.  Users have reported a faster draining battery experience immediately after downloading and installing the update.  This however is not a surprise as a more complex system means more consumption.  Some recommendations to deal with this include; using dark mode,  limiting background applications,  reducing screen up time, and using adaptive brightness. ...

This is Why You Need to Setup Two-Factor Authentication for your Accounts, Pages, and Sites ASAP: Ow-tech Solutions

This is Why You Need to Setup Two-Factor Authentication for your Accounts

Have you ever woken up and found calls from people claiming that you have sent them unusual content through your social sites? Or maybe you realize you have been locked out of your own pages and accounts?

Such experiences are usually devastating. At that point you get totally confused not knowing where to start.

How do such things happen?

There are a number of things that you do consciously that can contribute to you being a victim of hacking. These can include simple actions like clicking on a link or signing up to a website without thinking or knowing how dangerous it is.

Hackers pounce on the first opportunity they get to steal your personal information.

Watch the video below on some of the most common things that put  you at a risk of being hacked.

What's the simplest way to protect your accounts?

Apart from the solutions given in the video above, there's one very important setting you ca do for all your social sites and pages; TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION.

The two-factor-authentication setting allows you to have control of your accounts anytime everywhere you are.

When setting this up you do have a number of options to secure your account:

  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Using another device
  • Calls for some sites
  • Security codes
  • An Authenticator App
  • Security notification sent to your logged-in page.

Why do you need two-factor authentication?

With this feature set up, you will receive a notification every time there's a log-in attempt on a given account. This will allow you to know when someone is trying to access your account and accept or decline it.
You receive an email notification or an SMS when such attempts are detected.

I personally prefer using my mobile number for these security set-ups and I think you should too. I carry my phone everywhere and see more than 95% of the text messages sent within ten minutes of receiving them.
It is easier to miss an email even when you have turned on the notification feature on your device.
