Samsung's flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra is facing growing scrutiny after a number of users reported an unusual display defect that causes a red or pink tint to appear on the screen over time. While the issue does not appear to affect every device, complaints have been increasing across Samsung community forums, Reddit, and other online platforms.
According to user reports, the discoloration typically develops in the center of the display after several months of use. Owners say the screen looks increasingly washed out, with a noticeable reddish hue that remains visible even when the phone is set to Vivid display mode and maximum resolution. Some users have compared their devices with newer Galaxy S26 Ultra units and found significant differences in color accuracy, suggesting the problem may worsen with time.
Experts and users have suggested several possible causes, including issues related to Samsung's new Privacy Display technology, adhesive used during manufacturing, or a display panel defect. However, there is currently no confirmed explanation, and Samsung has not officially identified the root cause.
Earlier in the year, some Galaxy S26 Ultra owners also complained about blurry text, eye strain, and display distortion linked to the phone's new screen technology. Samsung acknowledged that it was investigating some display-related issues and has released software updates addressing certain bugs, although there is no confirmation that these updates resolve the newly reported red tint problem.
For now, the red tint issue appears to affect only a portion of Galaxy S26 Ultra devices rather than the entire production lineup. Users experiencing the defect are advised to install the latest software updates and contact Samsung support if the display problem persists, particularly if the device is still under warranty.
