Google Ends the 16GB Android Era: What the New 32GB Minimum Means for Everyone

Google has quietly but decisively ended the era of 16GB Android smartphones. With the rollout of Android 15, any phone that wants to ship with Google apps—including essentials like the Play Store—must now have at least 32GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. Devices that fall below this threshold are relegated to the lighter, stripped-down Android Go Edition, or lose access to Google Mobile Services (GMS) entirely This change is more than a technical footnote. It signals a major shift in the Android ecosystem, with far-reaching implications for developers, manufacturers, retailers, marketers, and consumers alike. Why Google Raised the Bar Apps Are Heavier, Expectations Are Higher The days when 16GB could comfortably house the Android OS, a handful of apps, and some photos are long gone. Modern apps—especially those with rich media, AI features, and offline capabilities—are significantly larger. Even so-called “lite” apps have grown in size, and the Android system itself continues to ...

Headphones vs Earpods, which one should you buy? - Ow-tech Solutions

Headphones vs Earpods, which one should you buy?

Music is one of the few things loved by everyone. People have different tastes and that is well covered since there are songs of different genres and languages. Whichever choice make, it is always readily available. While some people prefer their music loud, others love it soft and soothing.

Music is played through audio devices such as speakers, mobile phones, headphones, earphones, and Earpods among others.

What's the better choice between a headphone and Earpods?

Despite performing the same function, these two headsets have some differences that are likely to affect your choice when shopping for a headset.

Some of the common features that you should compare before buying a headphone or earpod are:

Size and Weight.

When buying a headphone or Earpods, you might want to think about how and where you will be using it. Headphones are bigger and heavier and more suitable for using at home. If you want to set up a work station at home or a home studio, a headphone can be an ideal choice.

Earpods are small, compact and easy to carry making them a great choice if you're always on the go. One advantage that they have over headphones is that you can choose to carry one earpod and it will still work.

Connectivity

Both headphones and Earpods on the market today are compatible with Bluetooth devices. you can simply create a connection with your phone, tablet, or any wireless audio device and listen to your favorite music or program. When it comes to connectivity, headphones have a slight edge over Earpods. You can connect a headphone to an audio device using a 3.5mm jack something that is missing in Earpods.

Since Earpods rely on power from the built-in batteries, it requires charging more frequently than headphones.

Battery Lifespans.

An average earpod has about three hours of music time when the battery is fully charged while a headphone has a minimum of 5 hours(most cheap headphones). This all depends on the headphone brand and the capacity of the built-in batteries. Apart from having superior batteries, headphones can also be used when out of power by connecting through a 3.5mm cable discussed above.

The large battery capacity is mostly due to the big size which allows more space for a bigger battery. Earpods are too small and therefore use smaller batteries.

Summary:

If you need to buy a headphone or Earpods, know what you need the headphone for, where you are going to use it, and the strength of the battery you need. These tips will help you avoid disappointments and frustrations. If you have any other points on the difference between headphones and Earpods, share them in the comment section below.

This is what I do to take good care of my Headphones - Ow-tech Solutions

Buying a headphone was one of the things I was excited about when I got my first one. Having used earphones for a long time and getting tired of the frequent cable damage, I had to make a change. The headphone was a very cheap one, the P47 wireless headphones, which is one of the most common and cheapest headphones today. I had no money but wanted to get the experience. On getting the headphone, I became a celeb in my neighborhood, all eyes on me. Let's drop the fantasizing. I used the headphone for slightly over a year. By then, the Bluetooth function was no more since the battery had been damaged, one handle was broken and patched up with insulating tape and the speakers had been repaired several times. I had no idea how to take care of the headphones. I literally learned my lesson the hard way.  From my experience, these tips can be helpful if you want to take good care of your headphones and use them for a long time. 1. If wireless, do not overcharge. If one thing is sure...
