Should you choose a wired or Wireless Mouse? - Understand the best choice and why: Ow-tech Solutions

Should you choose a wired or Wireless Mouse?

What type of mouse do you prefer using? Wired or wireless?

Technology has made life easier in many ways through the different inventions. Wireless devices such as computer mice, keyboards, sound systems, televisions and headphones have particularly made it easy to use these devices.

Organizing our home spaces and office has also become easy as we never have to worry about many cables all over.

Every good thing has the negative side and today we do a comparison of a wired and wireless mouse.

Before we get into this, note that the prices of these wireless devices are always somehow directly proportional to the quality or performance.

A wired Mouse

A wired mouse is convenient, easy to maintain and does not wear out faster if well taken care of. In most cases, it only get's damaged if not properly handled and the cables get worn out.

The secret to handling a wired mouse is finding the right way to bind the cable and put it in a position that won't be distractive.

Constant pulling of these cables is what causes damage. If that happens, you'll start seeing the mouse sensor light appearing to be blinking on and off.

What's positive about a wired mouse?

You don't need to constantly charge the mouse or replace the battery. This is because it obtains power from the computer when plugged in  to it through the U.S.B cable.

A wireless mouse.

This type of mouse works through a wireless receiver plugged into your PC though a USB port. Using a wireless mouse if fun due to its flexibility.

Some of the advantages of using a mouse is that you won't worry about hanging cables. The wireless mode makes it easy to move your mouse freely around your PC for up to 10m(depends on the mouse receiver chip strength)

Using a wireless mouse is fun and easy but it comes with some extra costs. There are two types of wireless mouse; the type that uses AAA batteries and the rechargeable ones which have built in batteries.

It is expensive and inconvenient replacing the removable battery every two months or less. When using the rechargeable ones, the battery strength goes down the more you use. It reaches a point where it can't hold power anymore, just like a smartphone, and guess what, you can't replace because you won't find the spare parts.

That means that when the battery dies, you have to buy another mouse.

If you need powerful wireless mouse for gaming or similar tasks, you will have to spend much more than what you'd use when buying the regular mouse you use at the office. These expensive an more advanced ones are likely to have a longer lifespan than their cheaper counterparts.

Conclusion:

In short we can conclude that a wired mouse is still an efficient option despite being considered old-school.

The choice is yours though, go with what suits your needs. If you don't wish to spend the small extra cents on mouse repair, find a wired one. It will serve you right.

How to create a partition for your computer hard drive.

Why is it important to partition the drive of your system? When installing applications on your system, it is likely that at some point one of the apps may get corrupted.  This results from updates from the software or virus obtained from external storage devices like flash disks plugged in the system. Partioning your hard drive is simply dividing it into different sections which can be managed separately. If you have one drive on your system, you can create two partions and use one for the main Operating system and the other part for your backup files. This makes it easy to recover your files in case the OS becomes damaged or unusable. It is important to note that a whole drive can get damaged and you would lose all your information in that case. That means partioning alone is not enough. One best practice today is backing up your information in an external storage or using a cloud storage system like Google drive which gives free 15gb storage space.
